Citadel: Why So Few Generals and No Medal of Honor Graduates?

Nobody’s bashing anyone who has served, received the medal of honor, nor any who have been KIA, so maybe let that go. However, posting same thing three times on same page may be part of the issue at hand here and seems interesting considering numbers. Just one viewpoint. Also, beneficial to...

Citadel: Why So Few Generals and No Medal of Honor Graduates?

Think it’s a fair observation and agree the way alum post on this forum, one would think their numbers would be more impressive… Fact that citadel boosters posted 3 times about same alum on same page might be part of the issue in this case.🤣

More fallout from VMI waterboarding incident

Interesting how it’s always the same individuals posting negative stories about VMI… Other issues going on here?!😆 Certainly, the administrators who made the disciplinary decision two or three years ago on these individuals had more information than we do on this forum or certainly the...

Army Ranger and Citadel alumnus Sgt. 1st Class Christopher Celiz awarded Medal of Honor

Didn’t Glen already post this? Also, are former citadel students called “alumni” if they don’t graduate? How many citadel graduates have received the Medal of Honor?

    VMI Business Insider Video

Absolutely agree. Also very different from the other SMCs in many regards, including the fact VMI is just 1700 cadets total! Would’ve liked to see mention of the endowment fund and the fact that VMI is the only “classical military college” in the USA, but no worries. Good to see videos like this...

The Citadel wins the Military Classic of the South

Hope your son wasn’t one of the rats trading hat brass with Citadel Cadets. That’s a $50 mistake! No joke, citadel brass is mass produced and costs about $5.25, while each VMI hat brass is handmade at the Armory and are $50! Imagine there are a lot of unhappy rats buying new hat brass today!🤣

The Citadel wins the Military Classic of the South

It was a great time indeed! Citadel folks were great hosts and the cadets from VMI played their hearts out!

Ask a Norwich University Rook Anything

Totally understand! I’d rather be warm than cold too! Are you going to be in the Citadel’s Corps of Cadets or one of the the other programs?

Ask a Norwich University Rook Anything

In terms of Norwich compared to the citadel or VMI, I may be able to help out. I have experience with all three. VMI is smaller and 100% Cadets. Best way to describe VMI is an old-fashioned version of West Point (which may be why VMI is called the West Point of the South!) Norwich and Citadel...

Is going to a SMC worth it?

VMI is the smallest of the SMCs and it’s the only “all-military” of the SMCs—meaning all VMI students are cadets. Also, if you want a bed, don’t go to VMI, because they still sleep on cots for four years! It’s a very Spartan-like existence, but the bonds of VMI grads are exceptional. Also, in...

How difficult is it to get accepted to TAMU Out of State?

Texas A&M is an outstanding school with a great reputation. Their corps of cadets and ROTC programs are one of the largest in the country and they have many four-star general grads. It is difficult to gain acceptance, so make sure you keep your grades up and if necessary, retake the entry tests...

C17 carries 823 out of Afghanistan - Air Crew makes critical decision

The reservists do a great deal of phenomenal support missions out of Charleston. Great job by the reservist crew from Charleston! There were some great crew members on board from University of South Carolina as well—Go Gamecocks! Amazing work by an amazing team!

The Citadel - What are my chances of acceptance?

MichaelT2022 Don't buy into the nonsense and don’t sell yourself short. Whether you’re in the corps of cadets or the other citadel programs, IF you choose to attend the citadel, you will most likely NOT be “in over your head academically.” Your grades and academic/HS record are very good. Bottom...
