It depends on the unit. Some units give out much more than others. Unfortunately mine does not really do upgrades, but I know others quite frequently give out upgrades as long as the cadet impresses that first semester.
i am strongly considering changing my major from journalism to finance. I am an incoming Freshman so it should be pretty easy, but I am wondering if I should email the ROO about it first?( I am AROTC)
Someone should be in contact with you. I got an email yesterday from the closest ROTC unit to my high school and they will be in collaboration with my school regarding the award presentation.
I would check the file upload box and if there is a winner letter there that’s a pretty good sign. I received my letter and mine also is in set boarded/uc
For Texas schools if you recieve a competitive scholarship over 1,000 dollars, you get the in state tuition rate. It’s called the competitive scholarship waiver.
I would say you definitely still have a chance. My status remains the same as yours, however I contacted my top 3 schools just to make sure and they all said I was awarded a 3 year AD scholarship to their school. I would contact your top schools as well if I were you.
I would call the ROO at the schools you want to go to, because mine also says boarded/uc but when I called 2 of my schools they said I received a 3 year AD scholarship.
I am planning on attending one of 2 colleges and use my father’s GI Bill the first year and hopefully I’ll be able to earn an on campus scholarship my second year.
I would also guess that they are just categorizing people from the first board and the new people and that if there are any new people in the under consideration category then it may be a mistake. I really don't believe theyve made any concrete decisions this round yet.
I also have this and I believe it's for those who were boarded during the first board but not selected for scholarship. Most likely the same as just boarded.
I'm pretty sure the boarded/under consideration is for people who were boarded for the first board and weren't selected. It seems to be the same as boarded.
