    A Couple Questions

Everything above is correct, but I will add that you can change major tiers! Myself and several others from my unit have done it. They allow for a slightly larger percentage of Tier 3 majors to commission than they do Tier 3 scholarships awarded. That said, those Tier 3 slots which are open...

    Double Language Minor

Do you take the DLAB at USAFA?

    LOA and Presidential

Mine? If you send me a message I can give you a couple stats but I’m not comfortable posting directly on here

    LOA and Presidential

Are you referring to the appointment or the nom? Either way that’s reassuring to hear.

    LOA and Presidential

Yes, I was granted a waiver for a broken bone last year and orthodontics. Everything is complete and I'm just waiting for my Presidential to show up in the portal. As I only have nominations to USNA, Presidential is my only nom.

    LOA and Presidential

Thank you, now it’s just time to wait I guess...

    LOA and Presidential

Yes, but at this point in the year is it likely all 100 presidential slots will have been charged?

    LOA and Presidential

I received an LOA on Dec 23rd, about a week after submitting my paperwork for a Presidential nomination. My MOC nomination process is finished and while I have 3 noms to USNA, I have none to USAFA. The MOC offices are working to find me a nom before the slates are submitted, but in case they...

    Editing ROTC scholarship application

How do you know you were boarded? My application says it has been received and I can no longer change my schools like I could in early December. I also emailed a school change as I was accepted to a reach school that wasn’t on my list, but I received no response.

    Using USNA CFA

I failed my first CFA very badly and was asked to retake. On the CFA I took today, a month later, I’ve hit around the average or above on everything. My PE teacher was unavailable so I took the test with my rugby coach, which is valid for USNA. I would imagine that would also be valid for...

    NROTC AFA

In my (unqualified) opinion, I would say the pushups could be better, shooting closer to 40-50, but overall looks good. If anybody disagrees, you should probably defer to them.

    NROTC AFA

Thank you so much for your help and kind words. I’ll definitely retake and push harder.

    NROTC Q&A

Do you mind me asking what your scores were on your application?
  14. R

    NROTC AFA

I scored 45 pushups, which is on the border of excellent/outstanding, 78 situps, which I believe is a low excellent, and an 8:15 mile, which when converted would be a high good. My times are improving, but my recruiter told me I did well, and I submitted the scores. Should I be concerned?

    NROTC Q&A

Ok, thank you! I was just curious as I'm a competitive swimmer and my swim time would lend me way more points than my best run, but that definitely makes sense.

    NROTC Q&A

Odd question, but I'm curious. Do you have the option to swim 500 yards on your PFT like you can once commissioned?

    Just another grades question

I had a really kind, bubbly lady whose style of teaching wasn't really effective for AP. I don't think anyone in the class ended up with even a 4 on the AP exam... She was sweet but AP wasn't her strength, she relied heavily on flipcharts and fun activities instead of lecture and comprehension...

    Just another grades question

I took AP chem last year, so if you need help with study strategies, I might be able to help you. Is your issue with the tests or with the everyday homework/assignments?

    NROTC AFA

Is the NROTC AFA pass/fail? If you fall into the High Good - Outstanding range, will you be ok as far as the fitness test goes? Or is it similar to the USNA CFA where you need to be above average athletically?

Major Choice - need ugly truth

Ok, thank you. I'm not trying to play the system, just wanted to make sure a difference in wording (civil vs environmental) wouldn't ruin my chances for a scholarship.
