    State Nomination Threads - Moderated

I just got a portal update with a nomination from NY-61. Anyone have any idea what this means? NY has no 61st district and I've already been accepted to USMA. Maybe just an error?

Does receiving a 3Q mean you passed the CFA?

Yes, qualifying physically = passing the CFA.

3Q'd and nominated - is that the "qualified" section in their "class profiles?"

I have taken it to mean the number of Nominated Candidates who are 3Q'd.

A "3Q Letter" basically says the candidate is qualified physically, academically, and medically. Triple qualified, or 3Q. I don't know if everyone who is qualified gets a letter.

    State Nomination Threads - Moderated

Just called Lowey's (NY-17) office. They said they sent out letters about two weeks ago. When I told them I didn't receive anything they said that I did get a nomination but my letter must have gotten lost somewhere. So that's a little annoying, but I'm just happy to get a nom! Now 3Q + Nom +...

    Nothing from either senator yet.

    State Nomination Threads - Moderated

I can't speak to how they coordinate noms, but any senator nomination is equal to any other senator nomination in the SA's eyes.

How many LOEs are given out? Any statistics on likelihood of admission?

Most MOCs use a competitive slate with no primary or alternate nominations, but it is entirely ok to call their office and confirm.

My bad, yes it should read this.

    State Nomination Threads - Moderated

MOCs can nominate in a couple different ways. 1- Principal with numbered alternates. If the principal nominee is qualified, he is offered appointment. If not qualified, the next alternate is offered, and keep moving down the list until a qualified candidate is found. 2- Principal with...

How are LOAs charged to vacancies?

THParent, yes I have interviewed for both Senators but feel confident I can secure a Nomination from my Congressman. Since NY Reps. typically "share the wealth" I may get a Senator nomination if my Congressional one doesn't work out.

How are LOAs charged to vacancies?

Thanks GoArmy2022. I actually just learned one of those LOA kids has commited to any Ivy rather than West Point, so I'm not sure if that will change anything in the future. Thanks again.

How are LOAs charged to vacancies?

So here's the deal. Two people in my Congressional district have been given LOAs. I have only been given an LOE (I say "only" in comparison, of course an LOE is still something to be proud of). Basically, if our Congressmen only has one vacancy, will they be charged for the two people with an...

How many LOEs are given out? Any statistics on likelihood of admission?

Great, thanks Ravens and GoArmy2022 for your info. Appreciate it. I'm in a competitive state (NY) so I guess I'm lucky to get an LOE. Another question, does anyone know if an LOE can turn into an LOA? Does that happen at all? Or is it just one or another? Go Army!

How many LOEs are given out? Any statistics on likelihood of admission?

Hello all, So I received a Letter of Encouragement from West Point a little while ago. Despite this I'm still nervous about my potential for being admitted. I'm sure many on this forum will understand, that no matter how many good signs you get you still question every bit of your application...
