They probably decided on the reapplicants on that date, I can't imagine I'll hear anything good on the 1st or tomorrow, so this is probably the end of the road. I'll just stay at my current college and finish out my time here. Thanks.
I have heard from people this year and last year that the board meets on Thursdays-I am a reapplicant. I am speculating the CGAS, waitlists, and denials from what decisions have been like in years past when approaching the April 1 deadline.
The board's final meeting is today and possibly tomorrow (they usually just meet on Thursdays) so we should see the final wave of acceptances today and tomorrow-with waitlists, CGAS, denials on the 1st.
To go into SF you need to be 1LT promotable to CPT. A program like that would not serve the same purpose as USNA -> BUD/s, because you go to SFAS 3-4 years later.
I had similar stats and got waitlisted. I ended up getting off the waitlist a few weeks ago and am attending this fall.
If it's your first choice I'd recommend applying early decision, your chances are tremendously higher. Even if you don't do ED, EA will still help because the Corps wants to...
Since he's a junior, he has the rest of junior year and the summer to study for the SAT/ACT to take in the fall. This is plenty time to get into the range that the SMC or even the Service Academies require. As a side note - if VMI is his indeed his first choice, they have a binding early...
I thought the same thing for the Coast Guard Academy but ended up getting rejected. I received an LOA, was medically qualified, got close to the max score on the fitness test, and didn't get either a direct appointment or a spot at a prep school.
It was an academically driven LOA. I got DoDMERB qualified in early February. On the DoDMERB website it has two seperate qualified status messages, one for West Point and one for the Coast Guard Academy. On my West Point portal "overview" page it has qualified at the bottom. My application was...
I haven’t been contacted by my MOC regarding the slate being won. I have an LOA and am medically qualified, I haven’t received a TWE. I also haven’t been contacted regarding being 3Q or the NWL. Is this a bad sign?
I believe you can take the SAT at any age. I was going to study and retake it if I didn’t get in for the class of 2022 because I felt it was my weakest part of my application, ~ 1300/30. Does the admission committee not consider it?
You didn’t receive a MOC call before all of this? I thought that was intended as your original announcement of appointment. Congratulations though, I hope to join you if I get appointed.
Do you know how my high school GPA will be weighed against my first semester at college? Will the college GPA be weighed equally with high school?
What college GPA should I shoot for? I couldn't find information on this anywhere.
I wanted to get a Plan B ready in case I didn't get appointed to either USMA or CGA.
So far I have gotten into VMI and have good hopes for V-Tech Corps of Cadets. In addition to these, I've gotten into to a few liberal arts colleges and state schools.
I am planning to reapply from one of...
