Why does it really matter what statistical methodology the USNA uses an acceptance rate? Everyone one knows it is very difficult to receive an appointment to any service academy. Who cares if only 5% or 10% (depending on how the calculation is completed) of applicants receive an appointment...

When Service Academy grads finish their military obligation, they are entitled to the GI bill to help fund grad school? I'm not sure if I was reading that correctly...If they are, that is something I wasn't aware of.

I know there are tours available of the yard (I think admissions or the visitors center gives them, but I am not 100% sure....you can find it on the website). You would get more information, historic tidbits, etc. from something like this vs. just wandering around by yourself.

I learned that one is able to use Zelle, or you can call customer service and they can transfer money from an account to nfcu using a debit card. Before our son left for the USNA, he gave us the money from his account and I used Zelle to transfer to his nfcu account.

When applying for the DBIDS card, do both parents need to apply? If one parent has the card, can the other parent have access to the yard as well? I thought the card was basically used for parking privileges and allowed you to drive on. Does it make entrance through any gate when just walking...

I agree with this logic. Over the course of a year, a candidate has grown through new experiences that were not yet encountered in high school. Meet with the authors of the prior letters and have a conversation with them. They will be able to see a new side of you and draft an appropriate LOR.

I think I read on the reimbursement form that mileage was paid at $0.20 / mile if you drive your POV. It's better than nothing, but that seems low compared to what the IRS allows. There is also a per-diem that includes lodging and meals for the day (that amount seemed legit).
