Entering College as a Sophomore on a 3 Year ROTC Scholarship

I'm in a similar situation where my credits don't match my school year, when I was a Sophomore my school said I had junior standing. However, I still needed to take all the required classes for my major and minor which requires all 4 years of school. If possible (very tedious) have your DS plan...

    Future OML breakdowns?

I don't know if it's the same but here is the breakdown for FY22. you probably have seen it already but since COVID happened, more of the OML is based on leadership outcomes. Academic Outcomes (20%) Leadership Outcomes (60%) Physical Outcomes (20%) I remember in the years before COVID...

4 year Army National ROTC Scholarship

Hello! Glad to hear that your daughter got into UCLA! I'm currently a rising senior in the Bruin Battalion in a satellite campus. One of the biggest components for your daughter to complete first is the 104R (they'll show her how to fill it out), which is essentially a 4 year plan of all the...

I need some ROTC help/advice concerning the national scholarship and uc Berkeley

First off, congratulations on the scholarship! Assuming that you are talking about Army ROTC, there is a branch in the Army called Military Intelligence (MI) and it seems like might be a good fit for you, given your interests. However, it is an extremely competitive branch which means you need...

Rejection, Plan B and some questions

This is more of a side note (i'm also not sure if this is the same for NROTC) but for AROTC if you want to compete for a "walk-on" scholarship one of the best things you can do is pass/excel at the PT test on your first try. Definitely puts your DS on cadre's radar right away.

    Portal Updates?

You should expect a letter in the mail in about a week or so. In that letter contains a paper that you sign and select the school you wish to enroll at. Next you scan that letter and upload it to your portal. Congrats on your scholarship!!

    UCLA AROTC

I see, then I'm not too sure about the "personal tour," this is the first time i've heard about it at least. If you and your DS can, you should definitely check out our program! I'm biased but I enjoy our battalion

    Scholarship Upgrade

I'm not sure about the citadel or vmi but for my battalion, if you come in with a 3-year national scholarship, you can get it upgraded to a 3.5 year by passing your PT test and doing well in your classes. Of course, you also have to show you are a motivated cadet that is worth the upgrade. As a...

What to expect in the interview?

Have an idea of what branch you want, bring a resume/transcript, know why you want to be an officer, what have you been doing to prepare yourself, why are you choosing the Army/what made you interested, are you looking for a career in the Army. If you want you can prepare some questions you...

    AROTC PMS Interview

Many people just suggest interviewing with a local school because you don't have to pay much for travel fees, saves time too. However, I've also heard of students doing a skype interview with their school of choice but you would have to communicate that with the PMS to see if they are willing...
