I can only answer the last half of your post. MOC can only have 5 people at a service academy at a time so when they have open spots they can nominate up to ten people for that one spot. You can be nominated by all MOC.

I believe they also give your congressman/senator (whoever you received a nomination from) a ten day window to call and give you the news themselves if they please before anything updates on the portal

I was wondering if they were super strict on the weight requirements like if your a few pounds over or under is that bad

My advice is to relax no need to worry so much about summer seminar the actual application will be a nightmare if you worry over every detail

If you have never seen USNA, I highly recommend going while your DS is at CVW because the tour for parents at CVW is much more informative than the typical tourist tour. Also guides give great application advice for DS or DD
