I would agree it's totally random. I attended NASS this year but my friend who has equivalent grades was turned down. Another friend has higher grades and ACT, was told she was a very strong candidate but has had no response to her CVW request. I did love NASS and contrary to one comment...

That’s true. But you’d be surprised at how many lurkers there are. They come to the forum and read all the threads that were posted that day. 2,5,10 threads. They never post or reply, but they read them every day. I have had quite a few applicants and fellow alo’s and academy admissions folks...
