I was issued two backpacks. A Nike black core squad backpack and also a black north face backpack. I use the issued backpacks because they are actually really nice and new, but you can always buy your own if you do not like it. The backpack has to be entirely black with no major design on it.

I personally believe that the name tapes that they issue during beast should be enough for all for years. They usually issue about 4-5 sets. I would get more name tapes for as for class uniform and white over grays. Yes you can always go to the PX or the Cadet store to order more name tapes...
