    I would suggest you contact NROTC at the University of Virginia and discuss your situation. One school was willing to work with my son and another would not. It's worth a phone call if it's your dream schools.

    My son is My son is a Sophomore and awarded a 4 year National scholarship. College Freshman can apply for the 4 year if they are under a certain number of credit hours and I think it is 32 hours and under. It worked out great since my son’s program is 5 years.

    My DS is also unsponsored at MMI and received his appointment to USMA last week. He was a first time applicant to USMA but a second time reapplicant to USNA and USAFA. The program at MMI is amazing.
