Hello folks. My DS graduated and commissioned into the Navy last week and his first assignment (not sure what you call it) is at the Nuclear Power Command school in Charleston, SC. I was never in the military so I know nothing about this. Can anyone give or point me to any advice on that would...
Hello, I realize this question has been asked here before and I’ve read a bunch of old threads, but I haven’t been able to definitively find what’s the most traditional gifts I can get my DS.
Also can someone either explain or point me to an explanation of the coins and swords? Are they...
My son is at BC now, Yes, they go to BU for PT.
My son is at BC now, Yes, they go to BU for PT. It’s 3 days a week. It’s about 15 minutes. Instead of the bus, he can catch a ride with an upperclassmen.
I don’t know about your other questions.
Wow, my son bought that line and enlisted. He went thru MEPS and took the ASVAB. What a waste of time. Don’t ever listen to a recruiter. All they care about is their quota. I don’t believe enlisting had any affect on his scholarship award.
In my sons case, he had received the scholarship before he picked a school. The school he went to (BC) had no knowledge of the scholarship during the admissions process. Not sure if that answers your question.
At my son’s school (BC), none of his financial aid and his academic scholarships were not taken away. In fact, he has a credit balance going into this year.

Yes, you still need to file the FAFSA.,
yes, you are still a dependent until you graduate. Right now, you want him to claim you if your family is eligible for the the stimulus and child tax credit.
I agree. The recruiter is not necessary. At the time my DS was applying for his scholarship we didn’t know that. He thought joining the reserves would enhance his chances, so he enlisted. Luckily, he got the scholarship. If not, he’d have a reserve commitment with no real benefit. The recruiters...
Hi everyone, been a while since I’ve been here. Anyway my son just took this test for the 1st time. Does anyone know the selection criteria for flight school? This , GPA anything else?
If there’s a better forum for this question, please point me in the right direction.
My son did exactly that. I was against it at first but he laid out all the reasons he wanted to do it and won me over. Now a year + later, I’m totally 100% behind him. It was a great decision on his part.
