I'm mentoring high schoolers who want to go to college. It's a great way to introduce them to The Service, The Site and The Academies.

I reckon by diverse you mean unique or special? I.e. A student who applies to Med School or Law School with a degree in Yoga. A kid who knows how to code would in the past be seem as diverse and competitive while now they're meh, right? I see the same applies with PPLs.

First of all, right on. Apart from what everyone has said, participate in the community deeply and in events(expos, conferences, activities etc) happening in your area which you like and want and enjoy it. You'd be amazed at how much stuff happens around you and what you can learn from it.

I do have an Idea, but how you suggest I do that, supposing I already did the rest of what you mentioned and here I am ? For the former : with the USNA tours you don't even enter any "real" buildings, as per what page says ; You tour it in a car. As for the latter : One Word : How ?

To clarify, I'm looking mainly for a concise summary of what the Academies are looking for. I can answer all those Questions in a great way as a kind-hearted lady who helped me yesterday commented, but context is key. This was also told to me when my resume was being reviewed.
