    Important to speak with AO and/or Admissions (Capt. Frede) and get direction... some are best suited to Prep, others may be better suited to a year at private/or public college.

    Good luck with your plan B (or C or D). Take the time to assess what your next step us. My DD, was deferred from. EA to RA last year, then waitlist, then not picked up from Waitlist. She went with plan B this year, reapplied and received an appointment-- ya gotta think "How bad do you want it?"

    I wouldn't go crazy trying to understand tge stats... Admissions is a "Puzzle" and they are looking to find tge best pieces that fit. Stay positive, stay in touch with your AO!

    My DD applied this year and was waitlisted. We knew ahead of time that USCGA is competitive, and planned accordingly, looking at other schools. She was accepted to all 3 alternates -- a state college, a private college, and Mass. Maritime Academy. We were only able to visit the private college...

    My DD did receive the e-mail, and was offered a place on the additional waitlist (til June 22). Though disappointed in not receiving an appointment, still hopeful of a chance between now and June 22... if not by then, determined to apply for class of 2025. Proud of her handling ALL the waiting...

    After a google search, the typical class is 279. Pretty sure that was the size of the last two classes. That may suggest approx. 40 more appointments from the Wait list(?) Keeping hope alive.. no news is good news? Keep the faith!

    I would interpret it as they are checking the medical info/waivers (or lack of waivers) for those that have an appointment, to determine how many from the waitlist can be offered an appointment.

    I was under the impression that when an applicant is offered Prep, they are already in the numbers for the following year (assuming they do well during their prep year). Ex. Preps (or CGAS) from 2019 will be joining this (2020) incoming group... Class of 2024.
