    USCGA Waitlist 2023?

Wow, that is smaller than I thought, but I guess it makes sense since the academy is just over 1000 cadets total.

    PFE during AIM

Perhaps that sounds convenient to you right now, but in reality, you should continue training after AIM. Hopefully, you will be getting stronger as you train. Thus, I would recommend taking it again your senior year in order to max out.

    Pre-Plebe Summer Training Suggestions

I am not sure why running on a track would affect your pace. When I did the PFE (Coast Guard Academy version of CFA) I got 8.45 on the 1.5 mile run even though I had been getting 9:00-ish on all my training runs in my neighborhood. I think my minimum training score was 8:52. Of course, this...

    AIM Rejection

What exactly is a beansprout? When I visited the academy this past Bear's Day the cadets were calling me that, but I didn't know that it was an "official" term for anything. I assumed it was simply slang referring to the visiting high-school seniors. I was also surprised (and kind of excited!)...

    USCGA Class of 2023 Waitlists

I agree with Aeroman65. I have accepted my spot for my plan B; I also made sure to let the admissions office (at my plan B school) know about the situation. I will not get my deposit refunded, but that seems like a small price to pay if I end up being offered a full appointment.

Chances of acceptance for self prep

There are two types of college-level physics: algebra based and calculus based. Engineers and most scientists take calc-based, while nurses, some scientists (biologists mainly), and pre-med folks only need the algebra based.

For some reason I was under the impression that college re-applicants cannot apply EA. Perhaps I am wrong?

    Coast Guard OCS Options

Thanks for all the advice. My plan B college is a local liberal arts college, so I do not think that they will be on the CSPI list. Also, I have been dual enrolled at the college I am planning to attend for the last five semesters--I have taken Calc I and II, Multivariable Math I, and Physics I...

    Coast Guard OCS Options

Hello, I have just been waitlisted to USCGA and do not think that it will be an option since I also need a medical waiver for a shoulder separation in the past 12 months. I am following through with plan B, and would like some information on OCS options for entering the CG as an officer. Is...
