    Navy Reserves

Right now I'm looking to graduate Fall '25 and commission after getting my masters in Biochem by Spring '27. I wanted to commission reserves so I could pursue a PhD or MD, but it seems like my best option is to do my 3 years active and then switch to reserves and continue my education then.

I'm starting NROTC as a non-scholarship mid in the fall and I'm interested in commissioning in the reserves instead of active duty. Is it possible or does NROTC only commission active duty?

USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

Turned down. This one doesn’t sting like the other ones, doesn’t even really hurt. Unlike other years I will be on a path to commission with Auburn NROTC. Good luck to all, I hope to see you in the fleet some day.

USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

I was not waitlisted, that was during the crazy COVID year and the new system. I'm probably the only candidate here who remembers the old CIS with that ugly yellow background 😂. I had a lot of bad things happen to me my freshman year of college (much of it my fault, some of it just plain bad...

USNA Class of 2027 Waiting and Speculating

TWE 1: April 14, TWE 2: May 2, TWE 3: April 12, and here I am this year at CPR. All of my applications have been down to the wire, and I can tell you the waiting does not get any easier on application number 4.

I've gotten emails from USMC officer recruiters after all 3 of my rejections, typically within a week of the notification. From my experience it's pretty normal.

Same for me, no withdraw button. I had a dream that I got an appointment last night, too bad I had to wake up.

Thank you! I am currently a junior, but still have 2 1/2 years to graduate (that is if I don't get an appointment).

Of all my years as a candidate, the waiting this cycle has been the longest and hardest o_O

    AMA Mid (yes another)

How often do you come across mids who got in after 3,4 or even 5 tries?
