    R-day Weight and Physical Question

I would reach out to RC about your concerns. See link below for height/weight standards. My understanding is that the physical events on R day are meant to confirm CFA scores submitted...

    Boot list

Shoe order form is same as what is referred to as boot memo. For Beast you are only allowed the specific boot models listed on order form not any AR-670-1 boot.

    Beast 1 SL-AMA

Dri fit because it will be hot and humid. Cotton retains moisture and doesn’t dry quickly. Wet underwear = chafing. Briefs are fine but tend to rub more than longer compression dri fit. Black so you don’t stand out.

    Beast 1 SL-AMA

The authorized low quarters are Bates brand. Model 00968 for men and 00769 for women. There was a good bit of confusion with low quarters last year as authorized Bates models were out of stock or production. The boot letter changed three times last year to reflect available models. The women’s...

    Question regarding 2024 boot list

Very important to try on multiple size boots and low quarters. DS ordered and returned (online stores with free returns/exchanges) several pairs until he found good fit. I posted this on another thread but appropriate here. Good socks and underwear are highly recommend. Issued dress socks and...

    Beast 1 SL-AMA

Good socks and underwear are highly recommend. Issued dress socks and underwear are not good. Below are what DS took to beast last year and had no issues with blisters or chafing. Dress socks for low quarters-black cushion type sock rather than thin dress sock. Hanes Men's ComfortBlend Max...

Class of 2024 boots and low quarters

Last year my DS plebe ordered and returned multiple sized low quarters and boots until he found a good fit. I asked him, in retrospect, what was the most important items for beast and he said plenty of good cushioned socks, dri fit (no cotton)compression shorts/underwear, well fitting boots and...

January Appointment Wave vs. February Appointment Wave

Purely conjecture, but it seems logical that most of the early wave appointees would be 3Q principle nominees.

    weighted gpa?

You are correct. School reports percentage grades on transcript.

    weighted gpa?

As previously stated, i would recommend calculating your unweighted GPA. AROTC will recalculate after receiving your transcript. DS had 4.0 unweighted GPA with several AP and honors courses. His official GPA was listed at 3.92 on portal.

    How do I know if I'm 3Q'd?

Term used to describe candidates that is medically, physically and academically qualified, ie. triple qualified. 3Q will not show up on portal. Only way to know if you are qualified academically is to be told so by FFR or admissions. Some regional commanders send out letters notifying candidate...

Senator Letter of Recommendation but not a Nomination

Possible that senators in your state share slate information and do not double nominate. It is my understanding that admissions knows this information. Senator‘s letter might a gesture letting admissions know that he would have also nominated candidate if this policy wasn’t in place. How much...

DS was 3Q/principal nominee and received NWL letter about this time last year. Received offer of appointment January 19th.

    How to update extracurricular

If memory serves, I believe any updates must be emailed from school official (ie. guidance counselor) to admissions.

Interest in playing a D1 sport at the academy

Understand your frustration and empathize with the situation. My DS, current West Point plebe, had a similar situation with different sport. No D1 offers but several D2 and D3 options including Merchant Marine Academy LOA. He had been in touch with the WP coach since beginning of junior year...

    Schools of Intent

The answer to the second question is no. As for the first question, you should add as many schools which you would be willing to attend if accepted. Many applicants will put “reach” schools as their top choices but round out the bottom choices with schools to which they have a high likelihood of...

    Athletes and nominations

This scenario is the reason why some MOCs may choose to submit ranked slate. For example, say MOC has four current cadets charged to him/her at an academy leaving one open slot for nomination cycle. MOC has two recruited athletes (or other applicants) with LOAs in his district. Knowing that...
