    USMA Waiver Denial HELP

I received a waiver for my issue for ROTC and am currently contracted. I am definitely going to stick with ROTC, but would very much like to receive an appointment to the Academy.

    USMA Waiver Denial HELP

I am currently a contracted freshman ROTC cadet. Last year I applied to USMA but my medical file was never completed and no waiver was requested for me so I was not accepted. I am currently reapplying to USMA. Based solely on my podiatrist’s office notes from my freshman and sophomore years in...

    ACT Scores

Thanks for the feedback! I did manage to increase my math ACT score to the point Academy admissions wanted it to be so I’m hoping for the best! Do they decide what math class you get put in using your ACT scores? I’m actually pretty good at math and received an A in my first college calculus...

    ACT Scores

I’ve been taking as many practice tests as possible leading up to the test and covering as much material as I can. Haven’t thought about approaching my professor about the ACT, so I might consider that going forwards. Thank you for the tips! Go Army! Beat Navy!

    ACT Scores

I will definitely incorporate the plugging in strategy on the test. The geometry was always a little bit of a rough spot on the test because I haven’t taken any geometry for four years, so the triangle tips should definitely help. I’ve incorporated these into my studying. Thank you!

    ACT Scores

I just took a semester of physics and calc with a average of 90 in physics and 85 in calc. I’ve heard you get additional points on your application for good performance in college so hopefully that’ll help.

    ACT Scores

I applied to USMA last year and but was not accepted. I’m currently a ROTC cadet on a 4 year contract and am reapplying to the Academy with a nomination from my ROTC Professor of Military Science and my Congressman. I’ve been told that I’m an exceptional candidate in all areas except for my ACT...

    ACT Test suggestions?

I’m taking another (probably last) ACT very soon. My reading and english scores are already very good at a 32 and 34. I’m not looking on improving these scores and instead have focused heavily on math and science. My science score is a 25 and my math score is a 27. A tutor suggested that since...

    Medical Waiver?

I have flat feet but they hardly bother me. I also have a 6 degree curve in my spine, but I heard anything under a 17 degree curve is acceptable. I was diagnosed with mild excezma once when I was 10, but it was quickly cured and has never reoccurred.

    Medical Waiver?

I’ve recently been notified that USMA needs to request a medical waiver in order for me to receive a appointment. What can I expect going forwards? Is it common for medical waivers to be granted?

    ACT Scores

I’ve been notified by my field force representative that West Point considers my application very competitive, but would like to see some improvement in my ACT scores, mainly science and math. I’ve been working to improve these scores daily and am hoping to raise them several points for my next...

Thanks for sharing your experience, I hope my experience at the Academy will be as good as your sons! Best of luck to him going forwards

    Problems with (extremely) worried parent

Definitely want it. I could go to any other college I would otherwise be interested in with very little concern money wise. The only reason I want to go to West Point is because I plan on becoming an officer in the army one way or another and I feel the Academy would provide me with the...

    Problems with (extremely) worried parent

This is something I was afraid would happen if I turned down an appointment and is part of the reason I know I’ll take the opportunity to attend if it’s offered. Thanks for sharing your experience

    Problems with (extremely) worried parent

How common does this tend to be? When I visited I was the only one whose parents were against the idea of their kid entering the Academy.

    Problems with (extremely) worried parent

Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m hoping my situation turns out similarly. Is it typical of West Point parents to become more comfortable with the Academy after a year or two?
