Only word of caution is that the members of Congress (Senators and Representatives) do talk to one another and if you have a LOA from your second choice school and you are given an appointment to that school, in most cases you will not be given another nomination to go to another school...

Congratulations!!! My son is currently a Plebe right now at the Academy and he received a LOA. It definitely relieves the stress factor. Good luck with the nomination process. We’ve just completed my middle sons application and dodmerb this week. Hopefully we will receive a LOA as well.

Just received my TWE as well. Like others I’m disappointed. Thought I had a pretty good shot after receiving multiple congressional nominations and going to summer session. But there were a bunch of other great candidates from the State of Texas that applied as well. My Plan B, attend USMMA...

Still wait I’m still in the hunt. I do play sports. Played sports for 4 years and I was a 2 year swim team and water polo Captain as well. But I do live in a very large and competitive State.

Not required but apply for summer session end of your junior year and start practicing your basketball throw early!!!! I was awful when I started in sophomore year but was able to toss it 83ft by jr year.

Didn’t have a nomination to USNA and got my email late Friday evening that I’m no longer being considered. Disappointing but expected. Good luck to all of you still in it. But still in the hunt with other SA’s that I got nominations in. Plan B!!!!

I believe the MMC is the Merchant Narine Credential . You need this credential to be able to board a commercial ship.
