    DD received her no yesterday evening. Kudos to USNA because the rejection letter was motivating rather than neutral or worse, discouraging. These kids are so young, life is long, and there are many avenues to military service. They need to grow into their futures, not be discouraged.

    FWIW, DD applied the morning applications opened also as a rising 9th grader and hasn't heard a peep. It seems that some older kids have had acceptances, but I don't know about the rising freshmen.
