    Nom. Essay

It's not a bad call to try to stray from the cliche but don't make it inauthentic. If you can provide a valid and meaningful argument for your thesis, then I would stick with your gut. They get enough essays of people telling them what they want to hear. On my essay with a similar prompt, I...

How am I doing? Am I ready for the CFA?

The minimum requirement for female push ups is 15, but of course you should strive for more. Remember the threshold. And try to do at least 1 pull up if you can. 1 pull up looks way better than the max for flexed arm hang.

How am I doing? Am I ready for the CFA?

If you submitted those scores right now, you would not pass. Not only is there a minimum requirement for each event, but there is also a minimum score threshold. Just because you pass every event doesn't mean you will pass the CFA. Therefore, you should strive to work as hard as you can...

    COVID-19: Candidate's Perspective

Sean, Sorry to hear you're on the struggle bus. I am too! As a reapplicant, I don't have the issue of sports and AP exams on the line, but with the coronavirus becoming more and more prevalent, I am afraid it will have a negative impact on admissions and the medical waiver I am waiting on. I am...

COVID-19: an opinion from a teenager

You are wise beyond your years, my friend. There's no shortage of well-versed and academically inclined teenagers on this forum, but the sense of community you have established is remarkable. This virus is scary and life is short, and I am so happy that you have the opportunity to do excellent...

    Vision Waiver Granted!

That’s amazing! Do you mind sharing the timeline for your waiver process? I’m currently waiting on a waiver for the exact same condition.

    Greetings! Waiting Sucks!

Hahaha I keep coming back to this thread.. 2Q with nom and waiting on medical waiver here. I feel like I’m extra nervous because at any point, admissions could disqualify me which would completely throw a wrench in my plans. Glad to know I’m not alone during this anticipation marathon! Good luck...

    Resubmission of push-up video

I had to resubmit push ups a 2nd time and pull ups a 3rd! It’s very important that the form is perfect. 1 perfect pull up and 15 perfect push ups for females, 3 perfect pull ups and 35 perfect push ups for males. Good luck!

    Waiver marathon

I got the DQ on December 9th and my waiver was initiated on January 14th. I was never notified that a waiver was initiated, I just logged into my portal one day and saw it. Waiting indeed is very nerve-wracking. I wish you all the best of luck, hopefully we can all get through this process...

    CFA Failure???

I second this!! You did better than me in every event except the mile run and I passed, but I know you are far above the minimum for the mile. If you did “fail”, it has to be because of your form in the videos. I had to resubmit push ups once and had to resubmit pull ups twice! If you don’t...

    Waiver marathon

My waiver was requested on January 14th, they never asked me for any more info though! Hopefully everything goes smoothly. I’d love to hear back from you when your daughter gets any correspondence!

    CFA Failure???

Do you mind sharing your scores? I’m curious as to what event they’re saying you failed, especially since you submitted so early and never heard anything about it... I know RCs can authorize a retest as well.. seems ridiculous that a seemingly competitive candidate’s portal would be closed so...

    National Guard to West Point?

I'm an active duty applicant, 2Q with nom and pending medical waiver for class of 2024. Obviously I haven't been admitted, but CPT Mason (the officer in charge of soldier admissions) says that I'm good to go for direct admit when my waiver goes through. As Spartan19 stated, you don't need the...

    Waiver marathon

2Q with a nomination and LOA, just waiting on a waiver.. fingers crossed! I’m obviously super anxious... anybody else in a similar boat? Though I know I can’t be the only one, it’d be nice to see who else might be going through this grueling process with me. Best of luck to all applicants!

    Majors and Minors Info

Absolutely! There are always refresher courses, FAO billets (working at an embassy or within a PSYOP region doing interpretation work) and slots within the agencies. I know the NSA has opportunities for service members to work missions involving foreign language, and there are advanced courses...

    Majors and Minors Info

Not a cadet, but an active duty Chinese linguist and 2024 candidate hoping to major in Chinese. As far as applicability to the Army, Chinese is a hot language right now. It will be for a long time too, given the consistent political turmoil. While I was at the Defense Language Institute, there...
