Just curious how injuries are handled regarding scholarships? We just had a scare with my son hurting his knee during soccer. He was so worried he hurt it bad and would need surgery and loose his scholarship. Luckily it just ended up being a sprain and he just has to take it easy for 2 weeks...

Well said! My DS was at cycle 1 NSI and only has positive to say about it. Yes it was hard but if it was easy everyone would do it right? I like the idea that it is weeding out the kids early that decide it is not for them. Why waste more of the Navy's $ or the kids time.

A friend of my son's enlisted in the Navy and is at the same base in IL. His first letter took 6 days to get to my son. So I'm hoping I'll get something by tomorrow.

My son is at nsi now. I've heard from some that got sent home for medical reasons that they took her moleskin they let you keep prescription meds only.

I don't see any harm in getting some more knowledge before you go. I mean what about the NJROTC kids they already know a lot of the basic chain of command and general knowledge? I'm sure no matter how much they study they will find something to stump them on, lol.

Yes it says most stuff will be done at Umaine but they may need to go over to MMA once in awhile. My son will have a car up there anyway so not a big deal.

I was wondering the same thing. Didn't really want the expense of the plane tickets for a 1 hour ceremony. My son said not to bother and apparently he needed to let them know by 6/22 so looks like we missed it. Now that I know they live stream it I'm happy with my decision not to go.

Thanks for all the answers he just called and they said wow we don't know how that snuck through without being caught. Yes you better go get one. He is running to a minute clinic now to go get one. Phew!
