The only reason I know this is that my son received one and our Congresswoman held a reception for all of the Service Academies' Appointees. 2 of the Appointees were recruited hockey players that both played Jr hockey for several years.

All of them are! I do know that in District 4 they tend to take more appointees for USAFA. Last year there were 5 for USAFA and only 1 in all the other Service Academies.

My DS got an email and then on the portal status changes to appointed from candidate.

Was told by our Congresswoman when she called with the appointment last Friday, it would be here today March 13th.
