Is District 3 Howard County? I forgot about Columbia. I think you are right. I counted Olney and Poolesville area as District 8. You are right the Gerrymandering fight has been going on for at least 5 years and I think it was going all the way up to the Supreme Court. The map makes no sense.

I do think Maryland as a whole is competitive across the country, but Montgomery County and Anne Arundel is very difficult. we've lived in both counties and 2 counties are different as night and day. District 8 by far is more difficult.

I agree with you. We lived in Bethesda/ Chevy Chase last year and my daughter believed you have to be in the top 1% academically to be even considered by USNA if you live Maryland.
