    7 Days — Nothing Yet

You’re absolutely correct... the USNA will give her a nomination when other candidates received their nominations from their official nominating sources. With all due respect... MOCs should spread the opportunities for more SA candidates and request 2 top SA choices when competing for a...

    7 Days — Nothing Yet

I sincerely believe if she received an LOA on academics and WCS alone... she would have already received a nomination.
  3. USNA2023Candidate

    7 Days — Nothing Yet

My brother received an LOA as a Blue Chip Recruited Athlete... could be a similar scenario. LOAs do not guarantee a nomination, and I wish her the best...
  4. USNA2023Candidate

    7 Days — Nothing Yet

I respectfully agree to disagree with a few commenters on this thread. I will conclude with my observation as a military dependent of a career naval officer... I understand that decisions will always be made throughout your naval career based on the needs of the Navy and in this case...

    7 Days — Nothing Yet

The process is not a perfect system and appears to operate more like a “shell game” with continuously moving pieces... I have to agree with mcfamilyof4.

    7 Days — Nothing Yet

Surprised that USNA is even considering a candidate without a nomination at this point... so many excellent candidates with nominations and impeccable applications have been denied admission. One can only ponder that being an athlete, female, or a minority will weigh heavily on whether you...

    Slate winners

My guess would be that they are checking their number of appointments to make sure that there are the right number of athletes, females, and minorities represented for the class of 2023.

    120 Self-Reported Appointments... Almost Full?

Thank you all for your responses. I realize there is no rhyme or reason... Fortunately, I have received an appointment to the USCGA, and I have been accepted to Georgia Tech for Aerospace Engineering. As a navy dependent, the navy has been my life and the USNA... is my first choice.

    120 Self-Reported Appointments... Almost Full?

Should candidates that are CPR, 3Q, with at least 1 Nomination expect to start receiving a TWE? Self-Reported Appointments are at 120, which equates to at least 1200 appointments that have been awarded by now. This number is based on previous posts stating about 10% of appointments are...

    Declined Appointments

Thank you to all that responded, I now have a better understanding of this process.
  13. USNA2023Candidate

    Declined Appointments

Can anyone explain what happens to an appointment that is declined? Is the appointment available to another USNA candidate from that nominating source?

    Chances in March

I have been following the different message boards for some time now, which have been very helpful. I am a Navy dependent and understand the Navy way of life. I can appreciate the thorough process that’s involved when making important decisions, and in this case, handing out appointments to the...
