    Commanding Officer of Destroyer Relieved

Different situation, as CAPT Bauernschmidt was not XO immediately before becoming CO of the LINCOLN, to say she did not "fleet up" from "Big XO" on LINCOLN to CO, as the pipeline for Carrier COs (called the AVN pipeline) is different, and looks like: Nuclear Power School-->CVN XO-->Deep Draft...

Trivia - Only 5 US Presidents (out of 45) Later Won The Presidency - Who Were They? NO CHEATING!!!!!

Bush 41 (to Reagan), Adams (to Washington), Jefferson (to Adams), Nixon (to Ike), Van Buren (to Jackson). I don't think TR counts here because he took office the first time after McKinley was killed, as for LBJ.

1310s/1320s (1310 = Naval Aviator, 1320 = Naval Flight Officer) are actually no longer able to earn a SWO pin on a disassociated tour I believe (although I believe they could until the early 2000s or sometime around there), although they are able to earn Conning Officer, OOD (underway and...

    ROTC and History Major

This is a true and important note. Everyone I know who has applied (including myself) have successfully done so and not lost their scholarship. I was concerned about loosing my scholarship if I applied; what I did was submit a package and wait for the board results before ultimately changing...

    ROTC and History Major

For Navy Options the required technical courses are: - Calc I and Calc II - Physics I and Physics II As it has already been put by the more experienced members of this board, your major doesn't matter for most things. You can still go into Nuke Power (Subs and Nuke SWO) as a Tier 3. However...

I've been (and likely will be again realistically) in your exact spot, best of luck to you from one NROTC Mid to another.

    USNA appointment after April 1?

Just got Waitlisted for '24. I will say that is considerably better than being rejected for both '22 and '23. Is this what they call a "net win"?

There’s just one thing I still don’t understand

You get notified when the portal updates . . . or something relatively close to that timeline. From my experience, email.

There’s just one thing I still don’t understand

We had about a thread about this last year: https://www.serviceacademyforums.com/index.php?threads/tracker-for-end-game-twes-and-appts.67470/page-12#post-667911 First year one came March 22, last year April 15. So yeah, I'd say that timeframe is a fair generalization.

Is it a good or bad thing that I haven’t heard back yet?

Might have been different because it was medical related, but I got turned down on April 15 last year and was "Pending Waiver Review" which to my knowledge made me not 3Q. I'd say on average you're probably right though.

    Naval Aviator Quality of Life

Any questions about medical stuff for Pilots/NFOs/Aircrew, here's a good resource (NAMI): https://www.med.navy.mil/sites/nmotc/nami/arwg/Pages/AeromedicalReferenceandWaiverGuide.aspx

Corona Virus on or before I-day = Medically DQ'd

I'm guessing they'd defer the appointment until the C/O 2025 shows up. Based off what Navy medical standards have been released WRT COVID-19 from BUMED, being forever DQed from the naval service because of having had it is not probable.

Should I just rescind USNA Application?

Technically no, lots of people last year didn't hear until later in April.

    NROTC Process Question

If things haven't changed, I did the interview before I submitted my package.
