I should have been way more specific. My question is about which deficiencies the prep schools address. Do they have anything to offer for a candidate who is highly qualified academically, but has a resume gap elsewhere? Specially, for example, the lack of the sports leadership piece?
Thanks. DS is waiting to hear from his counselor on that score. He is strong in all areas, but has no varsity letter. Good athlete and had a strong CFA, but is lacking that element.
I could use elaboration on this point. In general, will a prep academy be of benefit to a candidate who is well qualified academically? Is college and AFROTC a better option for such a candidate?
I wonder about my DS’s chances at this point. 3.98 weighted, 1330 SAT, 30 ACT, NHS president, 2nd LT in CAP, 3Q, maxed the CFA, basketball, track, jiu-jitsu, all AP science and math. Feels like a strong candidate, but has not heard anything yet.
