I second staying at IHG! You can walk to the ceremony, and great breakfast, too! Not a lot to do around there and everything is pretty much closed on Sunday, FYI.
Hello and welcome to the Forum! My son is about to commission in May, despite having had thoracic VBT in 2018. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that your DD will get a waiver request on her behalf, but if she’s truly keen on serving, I’d encourage her to apply AROTC if she hasn’t already.
Just be careful in regards to a 4-yr AFROTC scholarship. They really aren’t guaranteed for four years, and cadets can be cut from the program after two. There was a huge issue with this a few years back.
Did you send in all that additional info?
I would imagine once his DODMERB portal opens, he can submit all of that supporting material. If it’s already open (check junk mail if the invite should have come thru!), submit NOW even without their asking.
This REAAALY makes me want to attach a clip of Gunnery Sergeant Hartman from Full Metal Jacket, but I’m afraid I’d get banned. 😂 “Is that a jelly donut in your footlocker?!….. I CANT HEAR YOU!”
If I understand your question, it has been changing year-to-year, I believe mostly due to COVID? Below is how a cadet’s OML was decided this year. After their points are decided at the end of summer after MSIII, those points are racked and stacked against all cadets in the country.
Not sure the total graduating for this year. I’ve read 5900 and 6100. There are about 3339 active duty slots this year. CDTs have to put in their final branch preferences by Tuesday and will find out what they got on Nov. 30.
I‘m unclear regarding BRADSO and ADSO, so have asked DS. His 1st, 3rd, and 5th choices currently don’t have either, but his 2nd, 4th, and 6th have ADSO. According to Reddit, they advise NOT to BRADSO unless wanting CY. Maybe this will help
And @franknd, snapped it from Reddit thread. Cdt said his PMS shared it w everyone and it seems to jive w the stuff my DS sent me to help explain how it works. He’s now thinking of MI branch detail AR.
