We are traveling as a family to spend a few days in Colorado Springs. My son is a little worried about altitude sickness, so the plan is to arrive Sunday so he can get a few long runs in at high altitude before I-Day. After dropping him off on I-Day we head back to Texas.

Our experience was with an early morning update. DS wakes up at 4:30am to get ready for his 5am rowing practice. He checks the portal when he wakes up. Last Wednesday he checked his portal again at the lake during his first break, and it had updated (6am). He texted me shortly thereafter.

Our Congressman was not re-elected either. However he ensured there was a smooth transition with regard to all the service academy nominations and paperwork. It worked because the new MOC for our district was the one who called my son at the beginning of the week.

Waiting Club days are over. Son’s portal updated this morning and he is USAFA ‘23 bound! Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear. It is so hard to wait.

My son got a voicemail message this morning from our congressman that he got accepted to Air Force!! Not showing in portal yet. Is there usually a phone call like that first?

Parent here. Is there such a thing as a last possible date that USAFA will notify of appointment? We thought it would be by end of March. Son has to reply to USMA by May 1, but waiting to hear from USAFA first. He has congressional nominations to both academies. The waiting game is definitely...
