I really don't want to be a part of the Regiment of Cadets, or be on a ship for half an year, so I was wondering if I can just major in EE at SUNY Maritime, not get my licence (stick w/ internships) and be in MARGRAD. (Also, will a Maritime degree help with CG OCS in case I don't do margrad)?

I just wanted to make sure that I don't need an engine/deck license if I do a EE degree, so do I need a license for Margrad if i major in EE? Thank you (I know it says engineering degree, but is that only for marine enginering?)

AROTC-dad, does the guaranteed commission program only apply to arotc cadets, or is it also for afrotc and nrotc cadets too?

My detachment (#340) at Worcester Poly Tech is a medium sized-det, and they didn't tell us about our ranking or anything. I passed the afpft, and they were good with that (im not on a scholarship, i failed during freshman fall sem but passed this spring sem). I'm going to be a 200 next year.

I have a question. Is the International Transportation Management degree from SUNY Maritime College related to Coast Guard missions, or do I need to do 64 extra credit hours to get my third mate license to have a shot at MARGRAD?

I also have some difficulty with going 90 degrees with my push up. Also, I lack endurance while doing the run and I get abdominal pain when I push myself to do curl-ups. (nothing serious though)

I have read almost everything I needed from the USCGA website, but I would really like an opinion on my grades, etc. from a person who has experienced the academy or is very knowledgeable about it. Also, thank you for your links.

Although I would like to have a chance at West Point, the Coast Guard is really where I'd rather earn a commission (more so than the army). I would really like to know how my high school stats are so far, what chances I have of getting into the CGA, and what I need to improve on. Thanks.
