Make sure she contacts who she wants to write her letter of recommendation ASAP. That is definitely something that can't be rushed. And she needs to know why she wants to do it, aside from college credit and OML points. I wrote about how it would make me a more effective leader by being able...
Basically, as I understand it, this is about putting cadets in branches they're likely to succeed at, not just putting them there because it's their first choice. I've been told that the TAB test is going to be really important from here on out for this reason - it's going to tell you which...
I automatically got $10k a year in need-based financial aid from my college and I put all of it to room and board.
Just make sure he fills out the FAFSA.
I actually posted a similar question awhile back. Check the post out on my profile. According to my research, you cannot commission directly into it, but put in for it near the end of your initial service obligation
If you get an internship in the summer you're supposed to go to camp, could you request to get a regiment that works around your internship dates? Or are you just out of luck?
My MSG just told our MSIII class that the PT test for OML record at camp this coming summer will be the ACFT. This is the first time I am hearing this information. Has anyone heard anything on this?
I know that the Active Guard Reserve is an option for officers. From what I have seen, you cannot commission into the AGR from ROTC, as"you must be pending discharge from your component" (usar.army.mil). Is it hard to get into AGR as an officer before your discharge? Is it very competitive...
I won a 4-year national scholarship out of high school. I am now an MSIII. Does this guarantee that I'll get active duty if I put in for it? My PMS said he never heard of a 4 year winner not getting active.
I'm an MSIII cadet in Army ROTC. I know some scholarships are guaranteed National Guard and Reserves. Are there any scholarships that are guaranteed active?
PS
I am already contracted. Can I get that contract changed to guaranteed active duty if that option exists?
How does the application to become an Army ROTC Gold Bar recruiter work? When does the application process? Do you apply only after you get your BOLC dates? How do you apply? Who do you contact? Do you apply to a specific school? Can you apply to more than one school?
When you get assigned your branch, how much choice do you have over what specifically you'll be doing? For instance, if you branch Armor, how can you choose whether you're in a tank platoon or cavalry? Or for Engineering, how can you choose combat vs non-combat engineering?
What exactly is the TAB Test? I took it MSI year and I'll have to take it again now that I'm an MSIII. Does it affect your branching or component at all?
Army ROTC by the way.
All info is welcome. Thanks!
1) I know that with an ADSO you sign up for additional service to help get the branch you want. What are the best branches to ADSO for if you're an average cadet?
2) I know that Branch Detail also gets you your preferred branch in exchange for serving in another branch. What branches can you...
