    Here’s a good question

My cousin attended HS in northern VA. His father was a navy captain. He received a nomination to the naval academy in 1976 but from a WV congressman. His nomination was even listed in the local WV newspaper among other local WV kids. Were the rules different in 1976 or for children of officers...

    Waiver Letters

My son received a medical waiver for AROTC back in January. Does DoDMERB typically send a letter informing the person that the waiver was granted?

If you received an offer and had to make your selection by January 17, 2010 does ROTC make any further contact with you? Is there any way you know they received your acceptance?

We've contact the regional liason and he confirmed the documentation from DoDMERB was waiting review by the WP Docs. We've contacted Mr...

    Congressman's Quote

My son received a nomination from our congressman. Historically, he typically only nominates two or three kids to each academy. This year he nominated ten. With this many it makes me wonder if he switched from using competitive to principle noms. His office released something in our local...

The Life of a USMA Plebe

I have been reading a few posts lately by individuals who plan to attend West Point. I did not attend there but I was in the Infantry for 11 years and have several former commanders and friends who attended West Point. That being said, it appears some of the candidates are not quite familiar...

    Is One Better Than Two?

Is it better to get two nominations than one or does it matter? It seems like one does the trick but would WP grade a candidate higher if he/she got more than one? Or do MOC share info with one another about who they are nominating?

    Admission Website

As best I can tell, your application is complete when the icons turn to green. Is there any other way to know for sure? Does WP send a letter or email informing you the application is complete? Would it be best to contact admission or the regional liason to verify?

    LOA and Application Status

I have read posts that indicate LOA's are sent to candidates who have not completed their applications. I am not sure how true this is as I know of candidates who received LOA's and their applications were complete. First, it doesn't make sense to issue an LOA to an applicant who has failed to...
