Texas A&M - Awesome financial aid!!

Parents & prospective students - going "contract" is not your only choice for commission after college! We were hoping for a Navy scholarship but unfortunately my kiddo didn't make the cut (hrrrmmmm ). But the kiddo had his heart set on A&M... And not only is he there right...

So, is it like Navy, where he'll go before the next board as well, or is this a done deal?

TAMU Question.. How are Aggie parents handling sports pass?

Are you planning on doing the full pass for their fish year, or just the football pass, as required? We've been talking a lot w/our son about maybe doing just football - it sounds to me like he'll have enough going on that first year. Also - cars. What's everyone's plan?

NROTC Status Page is blank.. That's good, right?

I logged in this morning to check son's status, and his NROTC page has gone to blank - just his social and DOB showing in the blue area. If I'm not mistaken, haven't I read where that happened to others right before a big change?

A what-if thread on being offered a scholarship, but not to the "right" school...

I'm pondering the best worst case scenario today - that my son receives an offer from either Navy or Air Force (why yes, I am a little stressed knowing they're both meeting today) but not to his school of choice (Texas A&M) the school that started him on this path in the first place. So I'm...

    Another anxious Mom, from Texas

Hey all, I'm Shan, and my son CJ has been accepted to TX A&M for aerospace engineering, and we're on pins and needles waiting to see if the Navy or Air Force thinks he's officer material worthy of a very expensive ROTC scholarship. We think that he'll go TAMU no matter what, so I'm stressed for...

Texas A&M "Full on the Navy side"

I am so discouraged. The Navy contact at A&M mentioned that he believes A&M is "full on the Navy side" meaning the limited number of allotted ROTC scholarship billets have been filled. We were SO hoping for our son to attend A&M if he gets a Navy scholarship, but it's not looking good now. Go...

Do ROTC applicants automatically get registered with DoDMERB?

After finding these boards (I couldn't go crazy alone anymore while waiting for updates on my son's two ROTC scholarship apps - Navy & AF) I've been reading about DoDMERB, and out of curiosity went to log in and see what - if any - the status was there. He hasn't had a physical yet and didn't...
