    March Army ROTC Board

That is so true. My son was awarded a scholarship from the January boards and it took a few days for his status to change. We thought he would have to wait until March. We checked it one more time (just because we were gluttens for punishment) and low and behold...his status changed. So...

    Dodmerb update for Jan. scholarship

My son received a letter from dodmerb stating he was qualified (he received a scholarship offer from the Jan 26th board). He was worried about his vision but is feeling very blessed that all has worked out well.

    Qualified or Disqualified

We just looked on the dodmets.com site and my son's admission status is "pending" and his current medical status is "qualified". A DD 2368 (status letter) form was mailed on the 8th of March. He did all of his exams back in February. Does this mean my son has passed his exams and is...

    red/green deficiency dq?

Thank you so much to all. My son isn't freaking out as much as he was yesterday. I had to endure an evening of him running around the house telling me "this is red, this is green" but other than that, he will be just fine. He just feels so blessed to have been given this opportunity, he...

whats the average Army Rotc scholarship credentials?

My son has wanted to go into the military (did not matter which branch) since middle school. Does that mean he wants to make a career out of the army? No...he has other plans after the military. It just means that this is "part" of his life plan---not all of it.

    red/green deficiency dq?

Hello... My son had his eye exam today and, to the shock of us both, the eye doctor said he has red/green deficiency. My son had such a hard time reading the red numbers on the green background. This is really odd since he isn't color blind (even eye doc says so) and he can tell the...

whats the average Army Rotc scholarship credentials?

Wow...everyone did such a great job in high school. As a teacher, it is wonderful to see so many young people achieving so much. My son had a lower ACT than everyone it seems. However, he had 3.5-3.85 (unweighted and weighted) gpa. He has 9 hours of college credit, captain of track, soccer...

My son found out his school options on the 4th of February. We haven't received anything in the mail yet (regarding physicals).

    AROTC January Board Acceptance

We did the same thing with my son's letter. We faxed it the same day he received it and then mailed it.

    Accepting appointment

It is the hardest thing I have ever done. But, he seems (as weird as it sounds) more grown up since he was able to make his own decision. I think he feels more grown up.

    Accepting appointment

Our son received an ROTC scholarship to two of the schools he really wanted to go to. First thing out of his mouth was, "What school do I choose?". For the first time in 18 years, my husband and I had to look at him and say, "I can't help you with this, this is your decision."---hardest thing...

    AROTC January Board Acceptance

My son received scholarship offers to two of his schools on Thursday. On Friday, CC updated his list with another school. This sent son into confusion as to what to do. One is out of state, the other is local and all would be paid for (school is very generous with its ROTC scholarship...

Can son change transfer his AROTC scholarship after his freshman year?

Thank you so much for the information. I agree with you...he seems very happy with his out of state choice (we met with the PMS and some of the other cadets). I think he worries more about the parental units than he should. He thinks we will be miserable without him. He doesn't know about the...
