USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

That's the plan! I'm going to be doing NROTC at Carnegie Mellon, so I honestly can't complain about my plan B, even if reappplying next year doesn't work out either.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Welp just got the turn down. Pretty disappointing, I had two noms, 3.92uw/4.5w, 1510 sat, took math through calc BC and physics c1, mutliple college courses taken, xo of my jrotc unit, team captain of the orienteering team that just won the national championships, top 10 in the state for club...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

I've heard gossip from some people who I went to nass with that they called their admissions counselor and they said the hear by date has been pushed back from April 15th to May 1st, can anyone confirm/deny? If so that's pretty unfortunate, the wait is bad enough as is

    NASS Scholarships

I emailed them too and got the same answer. I'm just worried about it because it said payment had to be made within 10 days of acceptance to reserve your spot. I emailed the other email for general questions, hopefully, they will email me back and tell me what's going on with that and what we...

Cadets instructed by USAFA leadership not to use words like "Mom" and "Dad"

That's how I read it too. You don't know what kind of background someone comes from and it's always better to air on the side of caution especially because parents can be a sensitive topic if someone lost theirs or had to have alternate guardianship.

    Running Start

Probably should've clarified that in the original post but no big deal. It's always advised to take the most difficult courses available to you, so if those are CC courses then it will be beneficial. Be sure to fully understand what you are committing to because college courses are very...

How to improve my mile time?

Nike has a 8 week mile training program you should be able to find just by looking up. It tells you what to do each day, we are doing it in my fitness class. We havent finished yet so I can't say for sure that I've improved but I would be very surprised if I haven't. It has a good mix of...

    Leave for church mission?

Girls can't go on a mission until they are 19, so it makes more sense for them to go to school for a bit then go on a mission. I think for a lot of the guys they probably would want to get into the academy right out of highschool because being two years removed from high school then tring to...

    A Dilemma

It may not be my place to say anything, but I think you need to learn some humility. The people on these forums you call "old timers" take time out of their day to try and answer questions and guide people as they apply. They have a whole lot more information and experience then you do so I...

    Hopeful Middle Schooler

Keep working hard throughout highschool. I'm currently a freshman and starting this year off I vastly underestimated the workload. I breezed through middle school getting straight A's easily without ever having to study and now that my classes require me to study I'm really bad at it, so...
