I flew in the Navy for 20 years and now fly commercial. Best part of maritime academy is you can apply for a pilot slot and if you don’t get it you have zero commitment. Not so with ROTC or SAs obviously

I agree. There are no cookie cutter paths. My son enlisted in nuke school. Daughter NROTC, daughter Army linguist and I went Maritime Academy. Different strokes for different folks. I just think sometimes kids are too focused on the institution vice the result.
