    Aero/Astro Major

Aero/astro is literally rocket science. No matter which school it's offered at, it's one of the harder majors-systems engineering, thermodynamics, aerodynamics, structural engineering, materials engineering, orbital dynamics, etc... all these disciplines are combined into one major: aero/astro.

    Packing for Summer Seminar

Yes, you get four of the same nice gray workout shirts... but I don't think it's that big of a deal, they're good shirts and you also get a sweet windbreaker. As for the altitude: just run as much as you can until you leave. The cadre understand that people have difficulty with the altitude, and...

    Packing for Summer Seminar

Bring a robe as noted on the packing list. It's perfect for the many showers you will take, makes the process nice and easy. Also, as there is no a/c, you may want to bring a light sheet (especially if your sleeping bag of choice is of heavier make). I will openly admit that I was among the...

    Bedsheets to summer seminar?

Even if I did end up bringing the sheets (which I am now not), I would have packed the sleeping bag per instructions. Moral of the story: FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. As far as luggage goes, I'm planning on bringing a duffel. You get a bunch of new clothing (work out t-shirts, shorts, etc.,) during...

    Bedsheets to summer seminar?

Haha, true true. I went backpacking in New Mexico two summers ago-after a full day of high-altitude pack schlepping, I slept happily on the rock bed that Nature provided. Same here, session A. I'll see ya there on Wednesday!

    Bedsheets to summer seminar?

Hello all, I'm packing for the summer seminar, and I realized that while the Navy packing list asks for a set of bedsheets, the Air Force packing list doesn't-they just ask for a sleeping bag. A set of bedsheets would certainly be more comfortable, so (to any past attendees) would it be okay...

    Sir/Ma'am?

I was born in Maine, raised in Minnesota, to parents from Maine and Minnesota (both non-military background). As such, I have a very, very Midwestern/Northeastern way of speaking. There is certainly an aspect of regionalism to the usage of 'Sir' and 'Ma'am'-even the most courteous/respectful of...
