    Thin envelope- waitlisted

Lucked out. Son asked for CVW April 17th and he went. On 4/25 he got a call from Congressman's office that he was going to be offered an appointment, letter to be sent today. Hopefully there are more positive results for others on the wait-list. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for all.

    Thin envelope- waitlisted

Son waitlisted too. We can't help but think that this is encouraging! They want current transcripts and updated information. We were just so happy that it wasn't a flat out denial. NROTC backup is not an option for my son. He was not a recipient of the scholarship, and was crushed. He got...

Thanks! Thanks all you other moms! I will encourage him to contact the regional director and be assertive. I appreciate the advice.

    Weekend Visitation

Thanks for the advice mom3boys. I know my son would love to attend. But I wonder if pushing for the invite is a good idea. If he got invited he might get his hopes up for a pipe dream. He is beginning to be down on himself, he thinks another boy in his school is a better shot for the...

    Weekend Visitation

My son's BGO told him to apply to attend a CVW on the USNA website. I think he is wrong. He must be thinking about summer session. Don't you have to be asked to attend a CVW? I think my son's BGO is a nice man, (retired parent of a USNA graduate) but not a superior source for information. My...

    BGO Interview

My son's BGO was a retired gentleman who came to our home and sat down with my husband, son, and me. His connection to USNA was that he was the parent of a former graduate, maybe about 12 to 15 years ago. My son sent him a thank you letter after the interview. My son later sent him some...

    Migraines, Allergies, Asthma, Fainting- DODMERB

Update! Good News! We did have to send in all records we could get, and we had them from age 6. They accepted the information I had regarding the deceased doctors and now defunct practices we went to before age 6. We had to fill out another allergy questionnaire. Only a week after I sent in...

    Migraines, Allergies, Asthma, Fainting- DODMERB

Thank you for the reassurance, RetNavyHM, and WAmom68. I am going to have a hard time getting records since birth. Since age 6 we've had one doctor, but before that we had 3 different practices: one is defunct, one doctor is deceased, and I cannot find the other! But everything since age 6 is...

    Migraines, Allergies, Asthma, Fainting- DODMERB

Migraines, Allergies, Asthma, Fainting- DODMERB My son had childhood mild asthma, some headaches as a child, no symptoms either of these since age 8. Now he is 17, and his recent possible problems are: he fainted once last year after cutting himself deeply in Biology Lab. He currently has mild...

    Medical Records

In anticipating what might be requested... My son had mild childhood illnesses up to age 7 with asthma and headaches. From what I've read I'm assuming they will ask for records since birth. We had a few different doctors till age 6, some are dead or no longer in practice. I can't even...

Good Luck to Class of 2011

My son (who would dearly love to be in the class of 2012) attended at cross country camp at USNA from 6/23 to 6/26. The weather was cool for MD in June. On 6/26 the heat came in like a lion and we saw a big blue bus dropping plebes off! My heart goes out to these kids and I wish them luck and...

    Smoking Policy

Just wondering what the USNA smoking policy is. I could not find out any information on the website. Is it a nonsmoking facility? Thank you. Everyone on this board is so nice.
