C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

Chatted with DS yesterday. He got his summer worked out - but of course Semper Gumby. 0 block detailer school, 1st block surface cruise (but 1/C), 2nd block internship, 3rd block summer regimental detailer (also not the usual 3rd to 2nd class spot I think). I was wondering if this means that...

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

My DS is doing so many things I feel like I don't hear much. He has 2 activities that are so close to each other next weekend that he will be taken by special car between them for his MO. I'm still waiting to find out about his summer. He had so many great opportunities that he got - but who...

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

My DS told us that he is going to be a detailer - but that information is very new so his summer blocks are changing. He has an internship to do research, detailing, and cruise. I have a feeling when things get figured out, we will be lucky to see him this summer. I agree with the parents...

    New Dant Announced

I love his expression in his formal portrait. It looks a bit deer in the headlights. I wonder if this is his normal "every day" expression? I read his bio - very distinguished and has lots of experience! Wow! I know many mids are impressed.

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

My DS is really looking forward to spring break because the Glee Club is traveling to Japan for it! I won't see him but my younger DS is going to be on checking colleges out in New England area. He has now decided to apply to USNA (yikes, a potential 2nd kid there!) I hope that info comes out...

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

I'm bumping our youngster's thread. Sorry that I used the old one. I've seen lots of pictures of the snow, snow people/MIDN, etc. Most recent picture I saw was my DS company doing morning workout a few days ago, the company remembering Mason Halsey, the MIDN who recently passed away...

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

DS just found out he got an internship this summer. Some kind of STEM research. He is looking forward to it. He also hopes that he can be a detailer this summer. Don't know if he has a company billet. He seems to think he can just show up to help with PT if he isn't given one? I don't know...

Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

Got a "rare" call from DS last night. I was happy because I already miss him. Reason for the call is that his company was just informed that they are the "color company". He is really happy about that. He helped make sure that plebes this past fall could all pass the PRT - (I think that was...

    Midshipman loss

Just read this heartbreaking news from the Naval Academy. Prayers lifted for the Brigade, his family and friends. Midshipman First Class (senior) Mason Halsey, 22, of Gulfport, Miss., died Monday morning while at home on holiday leave. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently...

Service selection sheets turned in for c/o 24!!

When my DS went through PROTRAMID, he loved the subs due to that teamwork. He found that people were much more interested in working with everyone - all did their job - but he felt there was a real community on the sub. It will be interesting to see what he goes for when it is time to turn in...

Roller coaster I: Get You (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘27 🎢

Mother B is always open. Some students spend the breaks there for differing reasons. In terms of finding info, the website is where I look other than getting it from my DS or here. :rolleyes2:

C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

Mine just got back from tour with Glee Club in MN. Had a good time - but again, is "really busy" and lots of work. Not very talkative! Sounds a bit like he is in the middle or continuing the "grind".

    Restoration to 36 Companies

Yeah, mine sounded so happy about it (not). I think knowing this at 12 weeks is tough for them. Talk about timing! :hammer:
