    Deceptive Advertising? R&B

The rumor mill stirs because people walk on as College Programmers and expect a university to give them the benefit as if they were on scholarship. CP will not trip the benefit wire at most colleges.

PA School after graduating with NROTC

Just to be clear, your scholarship was the standard NROTC option and not the Nurse Corps Option correct? In your MIDN 1/C year, you will service select. Each type of service......SWO, SUBS, AVIATION, SPECWAR.......has a community manager. That manager determines what happens once you complete...

    NROTC or AFROTC Comparison Questions

If you don't mind answering this......when did you submit your NROTC Application? I ask because if you are a Tier 2 major, but have not yet heard back, then you likely sitting on the alternate list for NROTC. And assuming that is true, you have a better than average shot at getting a 3 year...

    Medical for Navy Indoc

This is what I "think" happened here. Some NROTC scholarship winners have already been DODMERB cleared during their academy application process. But many do not even start that process. If someone fills out the sports physical AND lists a series of medical issues, the NSTC team will hand...

    Declining NROTC Scholarship

Agreed. I don't know the exact statistics but it is a very high percentage. My point was simply that it isn't a 100 percent guarantee compared to the NROTC scholarship offer.

    Declining NROTC Scholarship

You can reply back to the original email notification you received for the NROTC scholarship. As a backup measure, you can notify your NROTC unit that you will be declining. I am certain you know this already, but your selection for NAPS is not a guarantee of USNA appointment. Just want to...

    NROTC placement change

In the email which notified about the scholarship, there should have been an email for questions. Or simply reply back to the notification email with the form. There used to be a way to do this in the portal but that may have changed since I left.

    Interesting "problem"

I'm sure there will be plenty of good advice in terms of which may be better. As an aside, if he really isn't feeling committed to NROTC, responding back soonest can allow NSTC to give that quota to an alternate candidate. Otherwise, the unused quota shifts into the bank for sideload...

    NROTC Transfer request- ever denied?

Just an update that this issue has been resolved. There's always room for one more 😃

    NROTC Transfer request- ever denied?

You can reach out to me through PM and I can pass some contact information as to who can help answer your transfer question. I just don't want the person's information out on a public domain.

    NROTC Advanced Standing ADSO

Your first day of ADSO will be the day you commission. You do not have to be in your accession school (BDOC) or assigned to your ship. You will get a SWO brief prior to you receiving a commission. They will explain the standard career path for Surface Officers. Basically, you do an Ensign...

    NROTC Advanced Standing ADSO

The training you receive at the unit is the same as all the other Midshipmen. Your active duty training as a SWO will also be identical. One difference for advanced standing is that you are not obligated to take calculus and physics.

    Accepting NROTC Scholarship

The best thing to do is to reply back to the initial email notifying you that you were awarded a scholarship and mention what you are seeing on the portal. They will take care of it from there. For the extra backup you can contact the unit and let them know you have accepted. You will be...

    Uniform Doesn't Fit

My critical input to all of this is to note that the garment native to Hawaii is the muumuu. I know this is the most critical part of the discussion. (Enjoying my retirement 😎 )

joining any rotc unit w/ dq

So if I understand the crux of your question.....you have several medical issues that you believe are currently a dq but there is one or maybe more that you think would resolve themselves in a year. Speaking from the NROTC standpoint, your medical history won't change that much in a year. If...

joining any rotc unit w/ dq

What will help facilitate the discussion is which branch are you most interested in? Have you already submitted your medical information to DoDMERB? Did they already say you did not meet certain standards? From there it would be easier to figure your best path available.
