    Well, he's currently a National Guard recruiter. As far as I know, he's passed his officer courses and what not but is waiting for an officer slot to open up for our state before he gets commissioned. Something to do with how Active Duty Reserve/Guard works but I don't know a whole lot.

    I greatly appreciate the advice given so far by everybody on this thread. I look forward to seeing what others have to post, but in the meantime I will definitely consider all that has been written out so far.

    Unfortunately, all visits are booked at the moment. I'm hoping to get an overnight slot once they open back up in a few months. I understand your point, but another issue is that even the SA grads and cadets that I see here tend to be fairly negative about their time at the academies as well...
