I saw a lot of info about running earlier, but do cadets run daily during BEAST? Additionally, I also saw that it looks like BEAST is split in two parts. Is one half slightly more informational (like marching, learning basics of military life, or testing) while the other is more physical oriented?

Hello! I have a few quick questions: Is it mandatory to wear an approved brand such as Fox River socks for BEAST or will more generic brands suffice? I also saw that low quarters must not be "patent leather". Does this mean that glossy dress shoes will be required?
