I quit wrestling my freshman year, and looking back at it, I really regret it. I wouldn’t quit.

How can I become more competitive?

Apply for Boys State, run for either LG or Governor. It's a huge addition to your application. The same goes for Boys Nation. The only suggestion I have outside of that, improve your SAT. Experiment with ACT. Take it as many times as it takes where you can honestly look at it and say "This...

Looking for a special way to tell parents about Appointment…. need suggestions

Thank you everyone for the replies. I went and told them, and there was a mix of shock, excitement, and a few tears. Part of me still doesn’t believe I actually got a waiver and am in. I think I’m going to wait until I have an official phone call/portal update before I tell EVERYONE. But very...

Looking for a special way to tell parents about Appointment…. need suggestions

Hey guys. Going to be brief and get to the point. Completed application in October, learned I was medically DQd in early January. Was a DQ that could go either way in the waiver process, so we’ve all been incredibly stressed about it. Received LOA in late January. Tonight, DODMERB portal...

    Interpreting Changing Status on DODMERB

Had the exact same situation happen to me. Check mark popped up in my USNA portal. I’ve read this means a FINAL decision has been made on my requested waiver, but not sure if it’s a “granted” or “denied “decision. I guess I just have to wait for the dodmerb site to update.

    Waiver experience post Dodmerb outage

Thank you. I’ve read on here to not upload documents unless they ask, as some might hurt the applicants case instead of help. But that seems like a very case specific piece of advice that I read.

    Waiver experience post Dodmerb outage

Hello, Was DQd for an old cross country track injury. No request for AMI before the DQ and have been under waiver review for three weeks now, with the only communication coming from USNA and USMA informing me a waiver has been requested. Have LOAs to both. Post DODMERB outage, does anyone have...

    Waiver Granted

Understood. Sounds like I'm in a similar boat as your DS was two weeks ago. Just hoping they don't ask for remedial, further dragging out the process.

    Summer Leader Experience Application

If I remember correctly, the candidate questionnaire IS the SLE application. If you are admitted, you’ll receive an email from late February all the way up to April I believe.

    Waiver Granted

Did he ever receive an email saying that USNA requested a waiver for him? I received an LOA after I was medically DQ’d, but never an email stating a waiver had been requested for me.

    Waiver Granted

Was your DS emailed with the news his waiver had been granted? I’ve been waiting for about two weeks now “Under Waiver Review”

Looking for Insight on LOA/Medical DQ situation.

Thank you everyone for your insight. I received an email today basically confirming it was an LOA and if there is anything marked with an “x” in the CIS, those are the conditions of the appointment. So for me, just the medical situation. Looks like I found the answer to my question. Fingers...

Looking for Insight on LOA/Medical DQ situation.

Capt MJ, thank you for the advice and kind words. It's hard accepting my part is done, and sitting and waiting is what I need to do now. Thank you for all you do on here, helping students like me. We all appreciate you.

Looking for Insight on LOA/Medical DQ situation.

So there is a difference between LOA and a Conditional Offer? Why would it not list the conditions I need to meet or send me an email? I have read about the LOA serving as a placeholder for an appointment, but I don't think that could apply to me given the "x" by Medical Exam and news of DQ just...

Looking for Insight on LOA/Medical DQ situation.

Thank you for the insight. There are no conditions. Just the words "USNA - Conditional Offer (LOA)" with no letter or hyperlink.
