Thanks everyone for the information. She is aware of the target times for walk-ons and wasn’t competitive until now. She keeps dropping her times as the season progresses and within striking distance. I wonder if the target times are at tryouts or times recorded during your varsity season.

My DD contacted her representative as a sophomore and had the opportunity to “dry run” the interview process. It was very beneficial for her and put her on the radar for her senior year.

Well as others have stated, she was “keeping her options open”

Since our DD accepted her USNA slot she was contacted by our MOC and asked to decline her USAFA slot so it could possibly go to another candidate in the district. I guess I’ll never understand the shell game

I certainly understand the calculated yield stats from year to year, but if the SA are offering more slots than they have, what would happen "hypothetically" if they had a year when more accepted than available slots? Would they recall an appointment?

I'm curious as to why so many appointees are listing "Will Accept". Why not accept the appoinment so USNA can continue to finish out the class rather than wait until the last minute. I think my DD is the first and only "Decline" on both the USAFA and USNA lists.

We updated USNA and DoDMERB when our daughter had her wisdom teeth extracted. It was a non-issue, but we wanted to keep everyone informed.

Did you apply to USNA? Their medical standards are different than USAFA.

My DD has accepted an appointment and received a CVW invite yesterday. I’m assuming it’s to cement her decision to attend (although not needed). She did however request a spring CVW prior to her appointment but was told they are generally reserved for juniors.

The issue isn’t what he had surgery for or when he had it. It’s the fact that he was MIA for FOUR days and nobody knew. I can certainly tell you that if I had a troop back in my day do something similar both the Airmen AND myself would be held accountable. This is a clown-show plain and simple.

I think we have enough facts to certainly ask questions and to demand government transparency and accountability. As far as consequences…it depends on the facts but a mere sweeping under the rug is unacceptable.
