    Guidance appreciated!

Good morning. I believe "flieger83" is 100% accurate..... you have to plan on your son's history to be disqualifying. HOWEVER, like virtually every other medical issue that is found to be disqualifying, there exists the possibility of a waiver. You simply won't know until you go through the...

    Waiver notification process?

Unfortunately, I don't believe anyone in the forums will be able to answer that. In our case, our DD medical waiver process started in December and was not finally approved until May. Granted, her case was unusual, but I think you have to be prepared that a final decision may not come until just...

"PTR PACKET" & "SPONSOR PROGRAM" sections added to USNA Portal

Good morning.... DS hadn't yet opened it, but the PTR showed up today in the regular mail.....Illinois.

    Pulmonary Valve Stenosis Waiver

Just to add to the above ( and very good) advice. You will find noted in other posts, DODMERB does not issue waivers. Each of the Academy's has their own waiver process and, generally, only well qualified candidates are even considered. We had success seeking waivers related to pediatric...

Class of 2020 USNA Appointment Thread

    Certificate of accomplishment

Thank you. And yes, very exciting. We simply did not anticipate the appointments coming so early. Our DS received an email indicating the appointment followed up a few days later by the certificate folder.

    Certificate of accomplishment

Thank you. the picture 5day posted( at least of the cert!) is what we received. I assume there is much more information coming. Our DS is honored and excited with a couple of great options going forward. Good luck to everyone!

    Certificate of accomplishment

is this the BFE I have seen referenced, or just a nice recognition of the offer of appointment?

Question about Medical for USNA ?

Regarding the waiver process, once Dodmerb issues the DQ, the service academy will EVALUATE the candidate for a waiver if he or she is competitive. It's difficult to say what medical issues each of the SA will grant a waiver for.

    Waiting patiently...

    Early Action Statistics

While Objee is the definitive source, I believe the anticipated class size for 2020 is 292. There will likely be a small number of international cadets along with slots for prep kids.( 20-30?) from the previous year. I don't remember seeing stats on acceptance rates.... Dodmerb and waivers...

Wait list: Is this good? Possible Appointment Available Later?

I believe above post is good advice. In addition, there are a number of stories of wait listed kids who never get the call, pursue a strong plan B, and then are successful re-applicants.

    NROTC Stats

DS also received 4-year a couple of weeks ago to his first choice/ MIT. Of course, he still needs to get admitted! Weighted GPA around 4.5/3.9 unweighted ACT 35.5 superscored 4-year Cross country and track/ ran 4.55 for the mile at his physical test Captain Cross Country and various leadership...

    Admissions question

Does/can an early offer of a 4 year NROTC Navy option assist in admission to one of the very selective colleges..... Harvard, MIT, Cal Tech etc??

    waiver question.

does NROTC- navy option and the USNA use the same waiver authority?

    Medical Waiver Process

Good morning. Our cadet, a 3C, went through the appeal process twice. All medical information was forwarded to DODMERB as requested. Initially the appeal was denied by the waiver authority ( which at that time was the Coast Guard HQ and I believe is still the case). We requested a second...

    Temporary Waiver

Congratulations! Sounds a bit like our daughters situation.... her waiver was granted to attend the USCGA. Assuming she successfully navigates her (4) years, she will then need further evaluation and would request a "permanent" waiver to join the active duty officer corps.

    Waiver Chances

I can offer some insight into the process. The waiver authority for the USCGA rests with Coast Guard headquarters. In regards to improving chances, it sounds like you have already provided the documentation that you can.... unless there was some information or research out there that you have...
