can anyone here tell me about the 4/8 appointee visit day? How did it compare to other state or private school admitted students days? My specific interest is if we'll get to learn about the engineering curriculum and facilities.

To be clear, I think it's really in the nomination process that my district is competitive. My guess is that apart from the few MOCs that don't send a full slate of nominees, I don't really think that it's easier or harder to be offered an appointment from different districts. Having said that...

he's not thinking about it much, his dad is grades, 4.0+, tons of APs and honors, 4 years engineering classes, certificate of biliteracy, advanced calc and physics SATs are around USAFA mean right now not having studied for it, he's working hard on it now (without tutors/class), he'll be fine...
