What are the requirements for running shoes at The Citadel? Do they have to be "mostly" white or black? Any color allowed? Most of the better running shoes today are pretty wild colors. Are these acceptable? What about socks? Are knobs allowed to wear ankle socks or no-show socks for PT?

DS had overnight visit at VMI over the weekend. Rats really painted a bleak picture and only talked about all the "bad stuff", e.g. daily monotonous routine, lack of privileges, lack of freedom, etc. He has been accepted at Citadel, waiting to hear from VMI and USNA. Wondering who else...

If student wins scholarship from local sources, can that money be deposited into mids account to be used to offset expenses at USNA?

Would it be acceptable, and appropriate, to take homemade cookies, brownies, etc., for the rats during overnight visit to VMI? I'm sure the rats would love it but wanted to be sure it was okay. :smile:

Anyone familiar with sprint football at USNA? DS has played baseball his whole life, but really developed a strong desire to play football in the past year. Too late now for high school. Do they allow "beginners" to play sprint football?

DS has completed application, all items on portal show complete, CFA complete, DoDMERB qualified (actually 3Q'd at USNA, already had BGO interview). Question: What is role of MALO? He hasn't been contacted by anyone. Is he supposed to contact MALO for interview?

Someone asked me recently what the commitment is for graduates, and I told them 5 years following graduation. They then asked if the 4 years at the academy counts as service time. I didn't know the answer, but I'm sure someone out there knows. Thanks.
