    Marine Air Service Selection

    I've done my best to use the search tool and figure most of my questions out through old posts, but I'm still unsure about one thing. If a midshipman gets a marine air contract, does that pretty much guarantee that he/she will go to flight school and become a pilot? I understand that...

    updating sports file

    I'm also a 2015 candidate who was considering swimming if it were possible. I think that in order to swim for the academy you need to have some incredibly fast times. As in be able to go sub 50 in the 100 free and probably well under sub 23 in the 50. Don't be discouraged by what I'm saying...

    USNA --> Marine Pilot

    Hey, I'm am applying at USNA to attend school there next year and my #1 choice at this point is to be a marine fixed-wing pilot. I heard that everyone who comes out of the naval academy commissioned in the marines for aviation have to do a deployment as a ground/infantry officer first. Is...

    Dropping NROTC Marine Option Scholarship

    If college bores him, tell him to apply at the Naval Academy. I'm sure he'd have more fun there than ROTC

    Aviation career options

    What do you mean by "ds"? And yes I know Milwaukee is very cold, I've lived here my whole life. My older brother also went to Marquette (civilian, not ROTC) and I've seen the campus and like it a lot.

    Aviation career options

    Ha, what a coincidence. I'm actually applying to Marquette for the Navy ROTC. But anyways, thanks for the help guys. Hopefully in the end regardless of my path I'll be able to at least fly something, whether it is what I originally wanted or not.

    Thanks for all the info and advice everyone! I'll definitely keep it all in perspective, but as for right now; I'm going to take 1964BGO's advice and just focus on getting an appointment first.

    Aviation career options

    Hey, I'm looking to go into aviation. I know that at the Merchant Marine Academy the primary focus is marine transportation, but what do you need to do in order to get a job in aviation. I ultimately want to fly either cargo or jets, anyone have any suggestions? thanks

    Aviation career options

    I am hopefully going to be attending USNA next year if I get an appointment, and was just wondering if anyone was familiar with how likely/difficult it is for graduates to get pilot slots. I definitely want to go into aviation, and I understand probably not every graduate gets what they want...

    Asthma failing for the DODMER

    Hey, When I was younger (7-10 years old) I would get seasonal asthma during the spring when pollen is EVERYWHERE. I know that in order to pass the medical exam you can get failed for having asthma. I was wondering if anyone thinks that because of my past asthma (that I have now grown out...
