    PFA for NROTC?

DD is a freshman on NROTC scholarship (Navy Option). Like the others that have already responded, she did not have to do any kind of physical fitness test until after she reported in August. They are simply expected to show up in shape. According to DD, almost everyone passed :)

    NROTC PFT?

No PFT until reporting for NROTC Navy Option DD is part of an NROTC unit. She did not have to do PFT during the application process, but was expected to be able to pass the PFT once she reported to the unit in the fall. Best wishes during the months ahead!

Are there a lot of people still waiting?

TWE for my daughter today as well, postmarked 3/31. :frown: Very tough day, but I am incredibly proud of her. :thumb: I have never seen her work so hard for anything in her life. No regrets on going through this process. She learned many life lessons, made friends, and has very fond...

Do any BGOs here know that it will be TWes from here on?

Does this mean that if a candidate that received an appointment offered from a local MOC slate turns down the offer between now and May 1, the appointment is more likely to go to someone on the WL than the next in line on the MOC slate? DD has not received a TWE or WL letter.....yet.

CVW do you need to bring a sleeping bag

Unless things have recently changed, he will need bedding. My daughter brought twin sheets, a blanket, and a small pillow. I saw many candidates carrying a sleeping bag instead. Enjoy the visit! It's a great experience.

    Question and Thoughts

For those still waiting to hear, I think that the following link will be an interesting read. It is a portion of an email from an RD of a Westpoint Hopeful poster and therefore only directly applicable to his/her region of WestPoint appointees and candidates, but it gives a little insight to...

Found a great chart showing percentages/stats, etc.

That would depend on when you completed your application and whether or not your file has been before the board. For my DD, it was at least a couple months after her file was complete that she got a letter. I have heard from others that they never received a letter, but were told by admissions...

Found a great chart showing percentages/stats, etc.

DD got a letter shortly after filling out the initial application last year stating that she was an official candidate. If you have a CIS page you are an official candidate. It is the initial determination that you can continue with the application process. Looking at the chart, a large...

I am assuming that it means you are board qualified with a nom.

Found a great chart showing percentages/stats, etc.

What is great about bringing this up now though is that many candidates are at that critical point right now holding their breath, wondering about their chances of getting an appointment vs. embracing their Plan B's. I think this kind of information is very helpful in allowing them to see...

Found a great chart showing percentages/stats, etc.

This is very good info. I think that the chart really helps those of you that are still waiting to understand your chances at this point and to understand how far you have come in the process. It is the most thorough chart that I have seen. Neugs, I appreciate your positive introduction of...
