    High Gloss vs Leather low-quarters

My DS is a new Cadet at Norwich, Class of 2015 and he has the high gloss shoes. They are acceptable and work just fine. They are Bates and he has been able to get all scuffs off them. p.s. I don't think he's lazy. Those were the ones that he was issued for Sea Cadets and they work just fine. He...

    Boots again

My DS is also a Cadet at Norwich. We bought him a summer pair and a Winter pair of Belleville boots. Perhaps more important though you should get boot dryers. The boots WILL get wet and boot dryers help with the moisture and keep them from stinking.

DS is visiting Norwich U next week

CoachBart- Your DS will ultimately have to make his own decision, but wow does my DS (a Rook) love it at Norwich. Went to Parents Weekend and Norwich obviously wants to put on a show, but what a show it is. The kids are great, the tradition is amazing and we could not be happier. Wishing you...

    Norwich University

So here we go DS will attend Norwich University. This is the first school that he wanted to go to and while it was a long and winding road, he and we are so looking forward to being a part of the Norwich Community. As we are in the land of the Huskers, the distance may be somewhat of a...

HELP! Need CC phone number for AROTC!

We were told that our DS's application for transfer was on hold, with several others and that the budget was a concern. The Division Chief was looking at all the numbers and that they needed to see more clearly who was accepting and declining the offers given. I doubt that the decision will be...

    Change of heart

DS is our oldest and thus we all had so much to learn and did learn by going through the process of applying for nominations, and then waiting for the eventual TWE. Not sure what DS would have done, but he realized that he wanted the college experience and thus the college that he thought was...

ROTC request for School change...govt. shut down!

We are in the same situation. ROO said we would have to wait til the last board results come out to see if any scholarships were awarded to the school DS is trying to transfer to. Makes sense that if the latest awardees will find out Tuesday, then we might find out too. May 1st is our deadline...

    November NROTC board results known?

Ouch! All in one week, Rejection letters from Air Force Academy (no nom anyway), West Point (after being wait listed), Naval Academy and now NROTC. That would sting way more if it weren't for the AROTC scholarship. Ah well, it's off to college for the DS. He's cool with it. Truthfully, probably...

    November NROTC board results known?

Don't give up hope danman. Everything can change on a dime. So many on this forum were sure they would not get into the SA or not get the scholarship, and then one day, poof, there it was! Hang in there! It's just a bit longer, but do try to make arrangements for plan B. At least it will give...

    March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

For better or worse, DS's little brother is only a 7th grader...Oh the joy of getting to do everything all over again. He won't do the military thing, but I'm sure the ride will be wild never-the-less!

    November NROTC board results known?

I can only imagine what a difficult job it is to pick scholarship winners. Each year, scholarships of all types get more and more competitive. I would not want to try to sort out and make those awards. Like most I am just humbled by our sons and daughters that have the strength and courage to serve.

    March 8th, 2011 AROTC Board

That makes me want to cry! DS is making a decision based on an AROTC scholarship. Our only hope is that if the NROTC scholarship is awarded after the May 1st deadline, it would be awarded to the same school. Much like it will be likely that I win the lottery this Saturday!

    January 4, 2011 AROTC Board

It seems odd to me that if CC is willing to at least entertain the possibility of transferring the scholarship to another school, they would have given the candidates at least two choices given that their were still openings at the schools. IDK... DS got a 4 yr. at his first choice, at least it...
